Running cli/dist/index.js in-checkout fails after build-npm.sh swaps in the publishable package.json (externals like zod are not linked by pnpm). Proves install --canary / install --ref (build-from-GitHub) / update --check / update --rollback / payload reuse / bad-ref hygiene / service lifecycle / uninstall-preserves-data on a pristine machine.
