### 2026-10-09 native notification channel preservation
The `8a5af65` Mac browser attempt still loses the pre-steering message and
remains failed. Its captured event contains the Rust-projected progress channel
inside an update, but an unknown channel outside it. The native notification
facade expects an item-start notification before assigning an assistant phase;
Hermes can emit a delta without one. The facade now preserves the channel from
validated canonical native deltas. Its process-local marker cannot be forged
by provider JSON. Two regressions reproduce the original loss, then verify
progress/final preservation and unchanged handling of unmarked provider input.
All 19 driver event tests and four focused rehydration tests pass. The broader
transport-suite attempt is interrupted and retained, not treated as a pass.
Inspection also finds stale compiled modules in the server's vendored Runner.
The TypeScript builds and vendor dependency check pass; six selected vendored
modules, including the sidecar, match the freshly built Runner byte-for-byte.
No local Rust or Docker build runs. Another native browser attempt is required
against these verified artifacts before accepting rendered steering behavior.
