test(evals): add a fixed TestOps AWS chat feature route (#18322)
## Thinking Path > - Paperclip lets people manage AI agents and inspect their saved work. > - Chat feature evaluations test a real request against saved tasks, audit records, links and reload behavior. > - The current suite has Codex and OpenCode cells but no dedicated runnable DeepSeek 1017 backlog plan in TestOps. > - TestOps must select the real case before the workflow can access a model key. > - This PR adds one fixed, default-branch AWS route for native OpenCode and DeepSeek 1017. > - The route keeps original evidence private and sends only a verified result and approved screenshots to TestOps. ## Linked Issues or Issue Description **Subsystem affected** Product E2E evaluation definitions and GitHub Actions delivery. **Problem or motivation** A dedicated TestOps plan cannot run the existing backlog chat journey with native OpenCode. A result must prove saved work and cleanup rather than report that a model call completed. **Proposed solution** Add one OpenCode backlog cell and one fixed public workflow. TestOps selection validation runs in a token-isolated job before builds or inference. The workflow retains private originals and reports the bound outcome to the selected TestOps case. **Alternatives considered** A private-repository wrapper would need a new cross-repository GitHub write credential. The new route uses the existing TestOps GitHub integration instead. Existing manual candidate approval paths remain separate. **Roadmap alignment** This extends the existing feature evaluation infrastructure. It changes no production feature, global runtime default or model default. Current main #18319 supplies the v2 grader, delegation queue accounting and final screenshot capture; these improvements are preserved. Related product work: #16814 and #17126 concern backlog handling. This PR changes neither product implementation and does not claim those changes are required. ## What Changed - Add exactly one native OpenCode backlog cell with DeepSeek 1017 under the separate `runner-opencode-deepseek-1017` profile. Preserve all four existing Codex and production OpenCode cells and their models. - Add a default-branch-only workflow with fixed evaluation, zero-result registration and one plan-launch modes. Require GitHub actor checks and authenticated singleton selection before inference. - Add a separate shipped-main evidence authority. Reuse the existing strict private storage, scanners, inventories and scoped AWS sessions. - Bind sanitized results, generated JUnit and producer-approved screenshots to the exact source, run, attempt and case. Keep failed grades and cleanup failures failed. - Add TestOps API, CLI and result adapters with pure controls and normal unit-test wiring. Keep the reporting token out of the evaluated process. - Verify the current server case result and attachment metadata after upload, without masking an earlier failed upload or evaluation. - Apply only the existing reviewed lock correction, verify unchanged tracked dependency inputs and bind the lock receipt across the compiled-output handoff before frozen installation. - Bind the initial administrator launch to one approved workflow run number and live GitHub source/actor metadata before TestOps authentication. Use bounded REST case reconciliation and only the reviewed existing GitHub integration. - Make two existing CI tests observe their intended state deterministically: a fake clock for copy-feedback lifetime and a completed-pass barrier for retry-cancellation batches. Production behavior and the original assertions remain unchanged. The two test-only fixes are intentionally included because their observation boundaries blocked this delivery’s required normal CI. They preserve every original assertion and change no production behavior. The original failed runs remain recorded, and the exact causes of those observations remain unknown. ## Verification - 157 focused profile, catalog, oracle, filesystem admission, export, private-path and workflow controls passed on the current-main composition. The existing stock OpenCode models and the new exact DeepSeek 1017 selection are checked separately. - 44 API, CLI, filesystem and post-upload readback controls passed, including foreign selection, changed hashes, unsafe files, failed outcomes, expired readback and no-resend behavior. - The new exact private session and trace layout controls produced four genuine parent failures and pass with the selected-path extension. The frozen 244-case candidate approval registry remains unchanged. - The lock guard has seven filesystem controls plus seven existing canonical-owner controls. The unrestricted old workflow failed its actual policy calibration; the corrected frozen-install route passed. - Eval-owning TypeScript checks, workflow lint and Git whitespace checks passed. The separate UI test correction was checked with the focused jsdom unit suite. The server test barrier has pure wrapper and real scheduler controls; its DB-backed route was not run locally. No additional local typecheck/build was run for these test-only changes. - Full native builds, provider execution, app/database behavior and TestOps registration are reserved for GitHub Actions/AWS. They have not run locally. - The initial normal CI run failed the new-workflow policy allowlist and a heartbeat scheduling assertion. The policy fix has an actual parent red/current green control and rejects five unsafe route variants. Heartbeat source is unchanged and its failure cause remains unknown. The original run is retained. - The launch-fence actual caller fails against the published parent and passes the five own-run contradiction controls before authentication. - The prior `a5aa359d` normal CI completed successfully. The complete `f9e1f289` run passed all leaf jobs except an existing copy-feedback UI assertion, plus its dependent verification gate. The four owning UI files were unchanged from the earlier passing head and actual tested merge; the exact scheduling cause remains unknown. - The correction changes only that test to actual React `act` and a scoped fake clock. All eight component tests pass; early-hide and never-clear source variants each fail the intended lifetime assertion. Production clipboard/card behavior is unchanged. - The `2f27f3fc` run passed the corrected UI shard and every leaf job except the existing retry-cancellation intermediate-count assertion, plus its dependent verification gate. The seven relevant owners match the earlier passing run and historical source comparison; the exact CI scheduling cause remains unknown. - The test-only barrier observes a persisted completed worker pass before asserting the unchanged 20-item cap and two-company fairness, then releases it for the original 29-item drain and 180-second idle check. Two extracted-wrapper controls and three actual scheduler controls pass. The real DB-backed test awaits AWS qualification. - On `836e80ac`, both repaired test shards passed in AWS. The original attempt retained a separate E2E cleanup HTTP 500 from a PostgreSQL lock timeout and one runner shutdown. No production repair or precise contention/shutdown cause is claimed. - Exactly one targeted retry of E2E shard 3 and its aggregate gate passed in attempt 2; exactly one recovery of the interrupted server shard and its verification gate passed in attempt 3. Other passed jobs were carried forward. The final normal run is successful. No whole-workflow retry or evaluation/model retry was launched. - Both literal required checks (`ci / verify` and `ci / e2e`) are successful on the exact final source `836e80ac`. Greptile is 5/5 and no review threads remain open. Actual TestOps registration and the OpenCode/DeepSeek feature result remain unqualified until their separate executions. ## Risks - Actual zero-result registration, tenant API shapes and public-repository dispatch access must be checked before the first evaluation. Missing or ambiguous metadata stops the route. - The real OpenCode/DeepSeek backlog result and Allure outcome remain unqualified until that run. No passing result is seeded. - One human query, one accounted work run, 120-second turn, 420-second attempt, 300-second settled-state bound and zero retries remain unchanged. Setup usage is outside work accounting and stays unknown. - The reporting token was configured through the separately reviewed protected credential bootstrap. It is unavailable to AWS evaluation jobs. - Metadata reconciliation is capped at ten pages, 1,000 cases and four parallel detail reads. Missing or inconsistent metadata stops before inference. The initial administrator launch counter must be created once after registration; it does not restrict normal TestOps Run actions. - Existing manual workflows, historical evaluation grades and candidate approval records remain unchanged. The original CI failures are preserved; the test corrections do not establish retrospective causes. ## Model Used OpenAI GPT-6.1 Sol (`gpt-6.1-sol`) with reasoning and tool use. Hide host-path and execution-engine surfaces in managed-sandbox-only mode (#12293)
## Thinking Path > - Paperclip is the open source app people use to manage AI agents for work > - An instance can turn on the `enableManagedSandboxOnly` feature, which hides the local environment and runs every agent in the platform-managed environment > - That feature already gated the environment pickers, the onboarding wizard, and the server-side run selection, but many other screens still showed absolute paths on the execution host and still let the user pick an execution engine > - On such an instance those controls name a filesystem the user cannot reach; a path written there is stored and then ignored, which reads as a broken control > - This pull request hides the remaining host-path and execution-engine surfaces behind the same feature, adds a server rule that refuses a project-workspace path write while the feature is on, and closes a related route gap in the isolated-workspace pages > - The benefit is that a managed instance shows no host path and no folder picker anywhere, and a write that carries a path now fails with a clear message instead of being silently discarded ## Linked Issues or Issue Description No public issue exists. The description below follows `.github/ISSUE_TEMPLATE/enhancement.yml`. **What existing behavior does this improve?** The `enableManagedSandboxOnly` instance feature, and the UI surfaces that show a host filesystem path: project properties, the new-project dialog, the project workspace and execution workspace detail pages, the workspace and task cards, plugin local folders, and the agent configuration form with its per-adapter fields. It also improves route gating for `enableIsolatedWorkspaces`. **Subsystem affected** Cross-cutting (`ui/` and `server/`). **Current behavior** When `enableManagedSandboxOnly` is on, the local environment disappears from the environment pickers and the server refuses to run an agent on the local host. Everything else stays visible. A user still sees: - the project "Local folder" row, its absolute path, and the Set/Change/Clear buttons - the "Local folder" field and its "Choose" folder picker in the new-project dialog - the "Local path" field and fact row on a project workspace - the "Paths" and "Lifecycle commands" groups on an execution workspace - the working directory on workspace cards, task properties, and runtime service rows - the plugin "Local folders" section - "Working directory (deprecated)", "Command", "Execution engine", "ACP server command", "ACP state directory", and "Agent instructions file" in the agent configuration form A path typed into any of these names a filesystem no agent on the instance uses. The project workspace API also accepts a `cwd` write and stores it. Separately, `/workspaces`, `/execution-workspaces/*`, and `/projects/:projectId/workspaces/:workspaceId` render for anyone who types or bookmarks the URL, even with `enableIsolatedWorkspaces` off. Only the sidebar entry reads that flag. **Proposed behavior** With `enableManagedSandboxOnly` on, none of those surfaces render. A project whose codebase came from a managed checkout keeps its one-line "Paperclip-managed folder." label and shows no path. The non-path controls stay: repo URL, branch, service URL, port, command output, ACP session mode, ACP non-interactive permissions, Codex fast mode, and the sandbox toggles. The project-workspace create and patch routes, and the nested workspace on project create, answer `422` with "This instance runs agents only in the platform-managed environment; local folders are not configurable." when the payload carries a non-null `cwd`. A `cwd: null` write still passes, so an instance that just turned the feature on can clear a stale path. With `enableIsolatedWorkspaces` off, the three workspace route groups redirect to the dashboard. **Reason and benefit** A control that cannot do anything is worse than a missing control: the user fills it in, saves, and gets no error and no effect. The server rule turns that silent no-op into a clear refusal. The route gate stops a feature that an instance has turned off from staying reachable by URL, which is the same standard the Cases, Pipelines, and hidden-settings pages already meet. **Breaking changes** None for a default instance: both flags are off by default for self-hosted and managed instances, so nothing changes unless an operator turns them on. Stored `adapterConfig` values are never cleared, so turning the feature off restores every previous value. ## What Changed - Add `ui/src/hooks/useManagedSandboxOnly.ts`, modelled on `useAppsEnabled`, for components that do not already read the experimental settings. It exposes `hideHostPaths`, which fails closed while the settings query is in flight, so a cold cache never flashes a host path before the policy resolves. Components that keep their own settings read compute the same gate from `isFetched`. - Add `managedSandboxOnly` to `AdapterConfigFieldsProps` and populate it where `AgentConfigForm` builds the adapter field props. Resolve the effective instructions-file gate once as `hideInstructionsFile || hideHostPaths`, so every adapter hides that path field with no per-adapter edit. - Hide under the flag: the project "Local folder" block and its absolute-path edit panel (a managed checkout keeps its label, without the path); the new-project "Local folder" field; the project-workspace "Local path" field and fact row; the execution-workspace "Paths" and "Lifecycle commands" groups; the working directory on the workspace summary card, the task workspace card, the task properties "Folder" row, and the runtime service rows; the plugin "Local folders" section; "Working directory (deprecated)" and "Command" in the agent form; and the per-adapter "Execution engine", "ACP server command", and "ACP state directory" for `claude_local`, `codex_local`, and `gemini_local`. - Drop two working-directory fallbacks that had no gate to read: the close-workspace dialog now falls back to "No additional details", and the reuse-existing workspace label and picker subtitle fall back to a neutral phrase. - Refuse a non-null `cwd` with `422` on `POST /projects/:id/workspaces`, `PATCH /projects/:id/workspaces/:workspaceId`, and the nested workspace on `POST /companies/:companyId/projects`, following the `assertNoAgentHostWorkspaceCommandMutation` precedent on those routes. - Add `IsolatedWorkspacesRouteGate` and wrap the `/workspaces`, `/execution-workspaces/*`, and `/projects/:projectId/workspaces/:workspaceId` routes with it. - Leave the SSH "Remote workspace path" and the workspace file browser alone, with a comment explaining why. ## Verification Automated: - `pnpm --filter @paperclipai/ui exec vitest run` — 479 of 480 files pass (4455 of 4456 tests). The one failure is `OnboardingWizard.test.tsx > renders instead of throwing when the browser denies storage access`, which also fails on `origin/master` and is unrelated to this change. - `pnpm --filter @paperclipai/server exec vitest run project workspace instance-settings` — 45 of 50 files pass. Four files fail on macOS for reasons unrelated to this change: `workspace-instance-cleanup`, `workspace-runtime`, `execution-workspace-runtime-control-conflict`, and `workspace-runtime-exposure` compare `/var/...` against the resolved `/private/var/...` or bind real ports. The same files fail on a clean `master` checkout on the same machine. - `pnpm --filter @paperclipai/ui typecheck` - `tsc --noEmit` in `server/` (after `pnpm --filter @paperclipai/plugin-sdk ensure-build-deps`). The package `typecheck` script also builds the Rust runner, which needs `cargo`; it is not installed on the machine that ran this. New and extended tests: - `ui/src/adapters/managed-sandbox-only-config-fields.test.tsx` — the three adapters drop the execution engine, the ACP paths, the instructions-file path, and every "Choose" button when the flag is on, and keep the non-path controls. - `ui/src/components/AgentConfigForm.render.test.tsx` — flag-on and flag-off renders for the working directory, the command, the engine, the ACP paths, and the resolved adapter field props. - `ui/src/components/ProjectProperties.managed-sandbox.test.tsx`, `ui/src/components/NewProjectDialog.managed-sandbox.test.tsx`, `ui/src/pages/ProjectWorkspaceDetail.test.tsx`, `ui/src/components/ProjectWorkspaceSummaryCard.test.tsx`, `ui/src/components/WorkspaceRuntimeControls.test.tsx`. - `ui/src/components/IsolatedWorkspacesRouteGate.test.tsx` — redirect when off, render when on, and render nothing while the flag query is in flight. - "Still loading" cases for the project properties, the new-project dialog, the workspace summary card, the runtime service rows, and the agent configuration form, each asserting that no host path renders before the policy resolves. - `server/src/__tests__/project-workspace-managed-sandbox-routes.test.ts` — the `422` on all three write paths, the `cwd: null` pass-through, and the flag-off pass-through. Manual check to reproduce: turn on Managed Environment Only in instance experimental settings, then open a project, the new-project dialog, an agent's configuration, and a workspace page. No path, folder icon, or "Choose" button appears. Turn the setting off and each control returns with its stored value. No documentation change was needed. The operator-facing text for both settings lives in the feature catalog entry, which already states the contract this pull request now enforces across the UI. ## Risks - Low. Both flags default to off, so a default instance is unchanged. - The hidden fields are presentation only. No stored `adapterConfig` value is cleared, because an import carries adapter configuration written on another instance and clearing it would break that flow. Turning the setting off shows every previous value again. - The `422` is the one behavior change for an API caller, and only while the setting is on. `cwd: null` still passes so a stale path can be cleared. - The route gate renders nothing until the flag query settles, so an instance with isolated workspaces on never flashes a redirect. An instance with the feature off now redirects a bookmarked workspace URL to the dashboard. - Every host-path guard fails closed while the settings query is in flight, so a default instance shows those controls a moment later than before on a cold load. That is the safe direction: the alternative flashes a path a managed instance must never show. - Two path surfaces stay on purpose, each with a comment: the SSH "Remote workspace path" is a path on the user's own remote host, and the workspace file browser shows workspace-relative paths. The instance Adapters page also keeps its "Local path" install option, since that page is an instance-admin surface the hosting operator can already hide through the hidden-settings mechanism. ## Model Used Claude (Anthropic), Claude Opus, 1M context window, extended thinking, agentic tool use through Claude Code. ## Checklist - [x] I have included a thinking path that traces from project context to this change - [x] I have specified the model used (with version and capability details) - [x] I have checked ROADMAP.md and confirmed this PR does not duplicate planned core work - [x] I have searched GitHub for duplicate or related PRs and linked them above - [x] I have either (a) linked existing issues with `Fixes: #` / `Closes #` / `Refs #` OR (b) described the issue in-PR following the relevant issue template - [x] I have not referenced internal/instance-local Paperclip issues or links (only public GitHub `#NNN` / `github.com/paperclipai/paperclip` URLs) - [x] My branch name describes the change (e.g. `docs/...`, `fix/...`) and contains no internal Paperclip ticket id or instance-derived details - [x] I have run tests locally and they pass - [x] I have added or updated tests where applicable - [x] I have updated relevant documentation to reflect my changes - [x] I have considered and documented any risks above - [x] All Paperclip CI gates are green - [x] Greptile is 5/5 with no open P2s, recommendations, or follow-ups - [x] I will address all Greptile and reviewer comments before requesting merge |

[codex] Add bounded workspace overview (#8627)
## Thinking Path > - Paperclip is the open source app people use to manage AI agents for work. > - The execution workspace subsystem powers project and workspace views by listing runtime state, branch metadata, issue links, and status summaries. > - The existing workspace views relied on broad list data that can grow expensive as a company accumulates many workspaces and linked issues. > - That makes the Workspaces page and project workspace cards slower than necessary because the UI does not always need the full workspace detail payload up front. > - This pull request adds a bounded overview contract for workspace listings and moves the relevant UI surfaces to that cheaper path. > - The benefit is faster workspace loading while preserving detail fetches for pages that actually need full workspace data. ## Linked Issues or Issue Description No public GitHub issue exists for this change. Inline bug report follows the repository bug template. ### What happened? Workspace index-style screens can load too much execution workspace detail before the user asks for it. Several UI surfaces used fuller workspace data paths for summary displays, which can make workspace loading slower as workspace history grows. ### Expected behavior Overview screens should request a bounded summary payload, while detail screens should keep using the full workspace detail endpoint. ### Steps to reproduce 1. Run Paperclip from source with enough execution workspace history to make workspace lists non-trivial. 2. Open the Workspaces page or a project workspace summary card. 3. Observe that summary UI needs only bounded workspace metadata but can depend on broader workspace payloads. ### Paperclip version or commit `master` at the time this branch was prepared. ### Deployment mode Local dev (`pnpm dev`) ## What Changed - Added shared types, validators, and path constants for bounded execution workspace overviews. - Added server service and route support for overview queries with bounded linked issue/runtime metadata. - Updated workspace overview UI API calls, query keys, breadcrumbs, quicklooks, close dialogs, project summaries, and detail links to consume the cheaper overview shape where appropriate. - Added regression coverage for the new server route/service behavior and the UI overview consumers. - Registered the new workspace overview route in the generated OpenAPI spec. - Kept overview totals aligned with the project join and preserved project slug links in workspace headers. ## Verification - `pnpm exec vitest run server/src/__tests__/execution-workspaces-service.test.ts server/src/__tests__/execution-workspaces-routes.test.ts ui/src/api/execution-workspaces.test.ts ui/src/components/ProjectWorkspaceSummaryCard.test.tsx ui/src/pages/Workspaces.test.tsx` - `pnpm --filter @paperclipai/shared typecheck && pnpm --filter @paperclipai/server typecheck && pnpm --filter @paperclipai/ui typecheck` - `pnpm exec vitest run server/src/__tests__/openapi-routes.test.ts server/src/__tests__/execution-workspaces-routes.test.ts server/src/__tests__/execution-workspaces-service.test.ts` - `pnpm test:run:serialized -- --shard-index 1 --shard-count 4` ## Risks Low to medium risk. The change introduces a new overview contract across shared/server/ui layers, so the main risk is a mismatch between summary and detail payload expectations. The added route/service/UI tests cover the intended split, and full detail pages continue using the detail path. > For core feature work, check [`ROADMAP.md`](ROADMAP.md) first and discuss it in `#dev` before opening the PR. Feature PRs that overlap with planned core work may need to be redirected — check the roadmap first. PAP-10430: split Issue-to-Task copy migration (#7651)
## Thinking Path > - Paperclip is the open source app people use to manage AI agents for work. > - The board UI is the operator surface where users create, assign, monitor, and review work items. > - The product language is moving toward "tasks" for user-facing work items while the internal API and database still use "issues". > - PR #7543 bundled this copy migration with broader information-architecture work, which made the branch too large for Greptile review. > - This pull request peels the Issue-to-Task copy migration into a smaller, independently reviewable change. > - The benefit is clearer user-facing terminology, less agent confusion via the Paperclip skill note, and a smaller PR that Greptile can review. ## Linked Issues or Issue Description Refs #7645 Refs #7543 Refs PAP-10430 This PR was split out of #7543 so the Issue-to-Task copy migration can be reviewed separately and the remaining IA PR can fall under Greptile's file limit. ## What Changed - Preserves Scott Tong's original `PAP-57` copy-only commit, with author and co-author credit intact, to rename user-facing "Issues" copy to "Tasks" across the UI while keeping routes/API/internal symbols as `issue`. - Updates onboarding and release-smoke browser selectors from `Create & Open Issue` to `Create & Open Task`. - Adds a terminology note to `skills/paperclip/SKILL.md` clarifying that task and issue refer to the same Paperclip work item. - Resolves the only cherry-pick conflict by keeping current search artifacts support and changing visible search copy to "tasks". ## Verification - `pnpm --filter @paperclipai/ui build` passed. - `NODE_ENV=test pnpm exec vitest run ui/src/components/IssuesList.test.tsx ui/src/components/Sidebar.test.tsx ui/src/components/NewIssueDialog.test.tsx ui/src/pages/IssueDetail.test.tsx` passed: 4 files, 66 tests. - `git diff --check origin/master...HEAD` passed. - Diff is 80 files, below Greptile's 100-file limit. - Before/after UI copy examples: "Issues" -> "Tasks", "New Issue" -> "New Task", "Create & Open Issue" -> "Create & Open Task". ## Risks - Medium copy-risk: this intentionally changes user-facing terminology broadly while keeping internal issue identifiers and routes unchanged. - Some docs and APIs still say `issue`; the skill note clarifies this so agents do not treat task and issue as separate entities. - Browser-level visual validation is expected from CI because this local container is missing usable browser dependencies. > For core feature work, check [`ROADMAP.md`](ROADMAP.md) first and discuss it in `#dev` before opening the PR. Feature PRs that overlap with planned core work may need to be redirected — check the roadmap first. See `CONTRIBUTING.md`. ## Model Used Scott Tong authored the original `PAP-57` copy migration, assisted by Claude Opus 4.8 and Paperclip agents per the preserved commit metadata. Codex / GPT-5-class coding agent with shell, GitHub CLI, and repository access performed the PR split, conflict resolution, skill note, and verification. ## Checklist - [x] I have included a thinking path that traces from project context to this change - [x] I have specified the model used (with version and capability details) - [x] I have checked ROADMAP.md and confirmed this PR does not duplicate planned core work - [x] I have searched GitHub for duplicate or related PRs and linked them above - [x] I have either (a) linked existing issues with `Fixes: #` / `Closes #` / `Refs #` OR (b) described the issue in-PR following the relevant issue template - [x] I have run tests locally and they pass - [x] I have added or updated tests where applicable - [x] If this change affects the UI, I have included before/after screenshots - [x] I have updated relevant documentation to reflect my changes - [x] I have considered and documented any risks above - [x] All Paperclip CI gates are green - [x] Greptile is 5/5 with no open P2s, recommendations, or follow-ups - [x] I will address all Greptile and reviewer comments before requesting merge --------- Co-authored-by: scotttong <scott.tong@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: Paperclip <noreply@paperclip.ing> |

[codex] Polish issue board workflows (#4224)
## Thinking Path > - Paperclip orchestrates AI agents for zero-human companies > - Human operators supervise that work through issue lists, issue detail, comments, inbox groups, markdown references, and profile/activity surfaces > - The branch had many small UI fixes that improve the operator loop but do not need to ship with backend runtime migrations > - These changes belong together as board workflow polish because they affect scanning, navigation, issue context, comment state, and markdown clarity > - This pull request groups the UI-only slice so it can merge independently from runtime/backend changes > - The benefit is a clearer board experience with better issue context, steadier optimistic updates, and more predictable keyboard navigation ## What Changed - Improves issue properties, sub-issue actions, blocker chips, and issue list/detail refresh behavior. - Adds blocker context above the issue composer and stabilizes queued/interrupted comment UI state. - Improves markdown issue/GitHub link rendering and opens external markdown links in a new tab. - Adds inbox group keyboard navigation and fold/unfold support. - Polishes activity/avatar/profile/settings/workspace presentation details. ## Verification - `pnpm exec vitest run ui/src/components/IssueProperties.test.tsx ui/src/components/IssueChatThread.test.tsx ui/src/components/MarkdownBody.test.tsx ui/src/lib/inbox.test.ts ui/src/lib/optimistic-issue-comments.test.ts` ## Risks - Low to medium risk: changes are UI-focused but cover high-traffic issue and inbox surfaces. - This branch intentionally does not include the backend runtime changes from the companion PR; where UI calls newer API filters, unsupported servers should continue to fail visibly through existing API error handling. - Visual screenshots were not captured in this heartbeat; targeted component/helper tests cover the changed behavior. > For core feature work, check [`ROADMAP.md`](ROADMAP.md) first and discuss it in `#dev` before opening the PR. Feature PRs that overlap with planned core work may need to be redirected — check the roadmap first. See `CONTRIBUTING.md`. ## Model Used - OpenAI Codex, GPT-5-based coding agent runtime, shell/git tool use enabled. Exact hosted model build and context window are not exposed in this Paperclip heartbeat environment. ## Checklist - [x] I have included a thinking path that traces from project context to this change - [x] I have specified the model used (with version and capability details) - [x] I have checked ROADMAP.md and confirmed this PR does not duplicate planned core work - [x] I have run tests locally and they pass - [x] I have added or updated tests where applicable - [ ] If this change affects the UI, I have included before/after screenshots - [x] I have updated relevant documentation to reflect my changes - [x] I have considered and documented any risks above - [x] I will address all Greptile and reviewer comments before requesting merge |

[codex] Improve workspace navigation and runtime UI (#4089)
## Thinking Path > - Paperclip agents do real work in project and execution workspaces. > - Operators need workspace state to be visible, navigable, and copyable without digging through raw run logs. > - The branch included related workspace cards, navigation, runtime controls, stale-service handling, and issue-property visibility. > - These changes share the workspace UI and runtime-control surfaces and can stand alone from unrelated access/profile work. > - This pull request groups the workspace experience changes into one standalone branch. > - The benefit is a clearer workspace overview, better metadata copy flows, and more accurate runtime service controls. ## What Changed - Polished project workspace summary cards and made workspace metadata copyable. - Added a workspace navigation overview and extracted reusable project workspace content. - Squared and polished the execution workspace configuration page. - Fixed stale workspace command matching and hid stopped stale services in runtime controls. - Showed live workspace service context in issue properties. ## Verification - `pnpm install --frozen-lockfile` - `pnpm exec vitest run ui/src/components/ProjectWorkspaceSummaryCard.test.tsx ui/src/lib/project-workspaces-tab.test.ts ui/src/components/Sidebar.test.tsx ui/src/components/WorkspaceRuntimeControls.test.tsx ui/src/components/IssueProperties.test.tsx` - `pnpm exec vitest run packages/shared/src/workspace-commands.test.ts --config /dev/null` because the root Vitest project config does not currently include `packages/shared` tests. - Split integration check: merged after runtime/governance, dev-infra/backups, and access/profiles with no merge conflicts. - Confirmed this branch does not include `pnpm-lock.yaml`. ## Risks - Medium risk: touches workspace navigation, runtime controls, and issue property rendering. - Visual layout changes may need browser QA, especially around smaller screens and dense workspace metadata. - No database migrations are included. > For core feature work, check [`ROADMAP.md`](ROADMAP.md) first and discuss it in `#dev` before opening the PR. Feature PRs that overlap with planned core work may need to be redirected — check the roadmap first. See `CONTRIBUTING.md`. ## Model Used - OpenAI Codex, GPT-5.4 tool-enabled coding model, agentic code-editing/runtime with local shell and GitHub CLI access; exact context window and reasoning mode are not exposed by the Paperclip harness. ## Checklist - [x] I have included a thinking path that traces from project context to this change - [x] I have specified the model used (with version and capability details) - [x] I have checked ROADMAP.md and confirmed this PR does not duplicate planned core work - [x] I have run tests locally and they pass - [x] I have added or updated tests where applicable - [x] If this change affects the UI, I have included before/after screenshots - [x] I have updated relevant documentation to reflect my changes - [x] I have considered and documented any risks above - [x] I will address all Greptile and reviewer comments before requesting merge --------- Co-authored-by: Paperclip <noreply@paperclip.ing> |

[codex] Improve workspace runtime and navigation ergonomics (#3680)
## Thinking Path > - Paperclip orchestrates AI agents for zero-human companies > - That operator experience depends not just on issue chat, but also on how workspaces, inbox groups, and navigation state behave over long-running sessions > - The current branch included a separate cluster of workspace-runtime controls, inbox grouping, sidebar ordering, and worktree lifecycle fixes > - Those changes cross server, shared contracts, database state, and UI navigation, but they still form one coherent operator workflow area > - This pull request isolates the workspace/runtime and navigation ergonomics work into one standalone branch > - The benefit is better workspace recovery and navigation persistence without forcing reviewers through the unrelated issue-detail/chat work ## What Changed - Improved execution workspace and project workspace controls, request wiring, layout, and JSON editor ergonomics - Hardened linked worktree reuse/startup behavior and documented the `worktree repair` flow for recovering linked worktrees safely - Added inbox workspace grouping, mobile collapse, archive undo, keyboard navigation, shared group-header styling, and persisted collapsed-group behavior - Added persistent sidebar order preferences with the supporting DB migration, shared/server contracts, routes, services, hooks, and UI integration - Scoped issue-list preferences by context and added targeted UI/server tests for workspace controls, inbox behavior, sidebar preferences, and worktree validation ## Verification - `pnpm vitest run server/src/__tests__/sidebar-preferences-routes.test.ts ui/src/pages/Inbox.test.tsx ui/src/components/ProjectWorkspaceSummaryCard.test.tsx ui/src/components/WorkspaceRuntimeControls.test.tsx ui/src/api/workspace-runtime-control.test.ts` - `server/src/__tests__/workspace-runtime.test.ts` was attempted, but the embedded Postgres suite self-skipped/hung on this host after reporting an init-script issue, so it is not counted as a local pass here ## Risks - Medium: this branch includes migration-backed preference storage plus worktree/runtime behavior, so merge review should pay attention to state persistence and worktree recovery semantics - The sidebar preference migration is standalone, but it should still be watched for conflicts if another migration lands first ## Model Used - OpenAI Codex coding agent (GPT-5-class runtime in Codex CLI; exact deployed model ID is not exposed in this environment), reasoning enabled, tool use and local code execution enabled ## Checklist - [x] I have included a thinking path that traces from project context to this change - [x] I have specified the model used (with version and capability details) - [ ] I have run tests locally and they pass - [x] I have added or updated tests where applicable - [ ] If this change affects the UI, I have included before/after screenshots - [x] I have updated relevant documentation to reflect my changes - [x] I have considered and documented any risks above - [x] I will address all Greptile and reviewer comments before requesting merge --------- Co-authored-by: Paperclip <noreply@paperclip.ing> |
